The man in the display case

Gotlander, 30-35 years of age. Injury to the thigh-bone, impossible to say how tall he was. Of a relatively stout build.

A shallow stab to the back of the head by a sword or axe. On the right side of the skull there are four small square holes. Traces of a mace.

The teeth are in a bad state. The upper jaw shows traces of a chronic inflammation, presumably caries. There are signs of repetitive strain injury to the lower part of the spine.

In the mass grave the man was lying on his stomach, face down, left arm bent over the head.
