Hook and eyes of gilded silver. In the circular centre part there is a depiction of a lamb and the cross banner. It is also called Lamb of God, or Agnus Dei, and is a frequently used Christian symbol as the lamb symbolises Christ as the bearer of the sins of humanity. The Lamb of God has been part of Gotland&#8217;s coat of arms since the 1320s. The centre part is flanked by two double-headed heraldic eagles with their wings aloft (the heraldic eagle&#8217;s normal pose is displayed, i.e. with its wings spread and raised).
