Rampaging with swords

In a text connected to King Valdemar’s invasion of Gotland the sword represents the violence inflicted on the population on the island.

“ … see the likeness of a dog come rampaging with swords … ”

The sword can symbolise power and chivalry. But it is also a lethal weapon that was used to stab people to death.

This sword is a reconstruction of a type of sword that was depicted in art around 1275-1340. A one-handed sword, designed to allow the user to both cut and thrust.

For the weapon to be efficient in battle it needs to have perfect proportions and good balance. And it cannot be too heavy. Try it yourself!
