5. Ring, gold

From Ammunde, Burs parish, Gotland, 1250-1361 A.D. The circumference (i.e. the ring itself) is thin and smooth. A square signet with chamfered sides, in which an uncut stone is set. The stone may be a ruby. The signet is engraved with palmettes (stylised palm leaves) and roses etc. SHM 2485:10
