Pot helm/iron hat, reconstruction

The original was discovered in 1898 by an agriculturist in Hof in Vestfold, Norway. In 1899, it was acquired by the Nordiska museet in Stockholm and was deposited with the Swedish History Museum in 1947. Even though the helmet comes from Norway, it is very consistent with Swedish equipment of the 1300s. For example, similar iron hats are found on some saint sculptures and in a stone portal in Källunge Church in Östergötland.
