2. Part of mace, iron

From the mass graves, the Cross Meadow, Visby parish, Gotland, 1250-1361 A.D. In the mass graves two long spikes and four smaller spikes were found. These have become detached from the weapon and remained in the dead bodies. The smaller spikes were probably attached to maces. The longer spikes were placed at the top of the mace. The smaller spikes were spread out over the head of the mace. SHM 19325:Tss22
