Few weapons were found in the mass graves

Not many weapons from the battles of 1361 have been found. The mass graves contained arrow heads and sections of maces. These sections have probably remained inside the bodies of the dead. Other weapons will have been taken by the victors as they were valuable.

Damage to bones, written sources, pictorial art and other weapons from the same era tell us what kind of weapons could have been used at the battles on Gotland. For example, spears, swords, maces, axes, crossbows, bows and arrows, knives and daggers.

The discovery of horseshoes and spurs indicates that some soldiers where on horseback.
